Property Sales Info

Good Morning Newburgh!

At the request of some commentators at the blog Newburgh Restoration, I am posting information on the two sales that the Newburgh Community Land Bank has completed so far. Both of these properties will be used for residential and both have been returned to the City's tax rolls.

Financing: Public & Private (in place prior to sale)
Date: June 28, 2013

188 Grand Street
Purchaser: Michael Lidgus
Use: Conversion of former Church to private residence (Single Family zoning district)
Price: $60,000--$30, 000 at sale with a $30,000 forgivable mortgage upon obtaining a CO within 15 months
Financing: Private (Owner's Equity demonstrated prior to sale)
Date: August 2, 2013

This information should also on record with the County Clerk at: http://www.orangecountygov.com/content/124/1368/4136.aspx  (may take a month or two for the records to be updated)

Additionally, notes regarding the board discussion of the sales are available in our minutes, which are posted periodically on our website in the "Minutes"section.

And remember, all of our board meetings are public. We hold these meetings at 4 PM in City Council Chambers on the third Wednesday of every month.  If that changes, we post here on this blog and in City Hall (as we did in August) well in advance.  We try not to change the dates that we publish in the Record at the beginning of the year.
Following each board meeting at 6 PM we hold a meeting of our Resident Advisory Committee where we discuss the activities of the Land Bank, any proposed projects or sales, and get feedback. All are welcome to join.  Two members of this committee also attend and participate in board meetings so that there is continuous communication between the two groups.

Before the end of the year, we will be launching a web-based mapping tool that will allow the public to access this information in an easy way.  Stay tuned!  We're a work in progress.

Thank you!
